More wheel, Less visibility?

I want to run a theory by you all.

The other day (Saturday or Sunday) we were riding behind a local factory. Admittedly, the spot is probably not the best to ride at (Not as far as the riding goes, but riding around behind a wheel factory looks a but suspicious). The other day we were riding at the spot, and a police officer pulled up and looked at us for a few seconds. We figured he was going to tell us to leave, as several acquaintances of mine have been kicked out and different occasions. After looking at us for the said few seconds, he just left, not saying a word to us (we also thought we might get kicked out because we filming easily with in sight of the back of the local FBI field office). Now then, to my theory. Might this been thanks to the fact that we were on MTBs rather than BMX bikes? Several times that I've ridden with BMXers, we've been told to leave a spot, but when I ride solo or with some friends on MTBs, people dont seem to care. Actually, I dont really think anything that I just said makes any sense, but I just wrote all of this, so I'm going to post it anyways. Opinions(not on the post, but the theory). I'm also going to post a similar question on a different site.

Are you saying that you think the cop was less suspicious of you because you were on a MTB instead of a BMX bike? If that's it I'd agree with you, BMX has the connotation of being punk kids who do reckless tricks and trespass. MTB is thought of as having more conscientious individuals who are just "passing through". True or not that's the stereotype.

C'mon guys that's discipline profiling. Cop's don't do that and neither should we! Now can we get back to bashing the lycra wearing, leg shaving, gram counting, laxative drinking roadies. You know the only reason they want to go fast is to rob quick shops, and get away silently

I thought this week we were bashing the prissy, leather wearing equestrians who love to leave us little landmines?

Garbage. The cop saw you, was going to say something and got called to a more important situation. Discipline profiling. Please.

Yes, that is what I was getting at. Just I said it in a much more confusing way.

Must have been real important. Given that he turned and drove around another parking lot up the street, then another, then another, before turning onto the main street, at normal speed.

Rookie hazing - - Cap't sent him to the donut shop and gave him the wrong address.

Maybe he just wanted to get a closer look at your bikes and was disappointed when he saw them up close? So instead of starting a conversation, he just turned and left.

I knew I shouldnt have been riding with a kid on a hybrid bike. Hmm, now that I think about it, he would have seen my bike first, then the hybrid, so the crapness of the hybrid must have off-set the crazy goodness of my bike. :)
