recent SS conversion

got the dirt bug lately, so I converted my older GF mamba hardtail into a SS. Real getto style, took apart a few extra cassettes had laying around to use the plastic spacers and the cog. Not bad for not having to buy anything but a chain. Got lucky with the gearing, didn't need a chain tensioner, but have a sigulater if I decide to change anything. Gearing is 38/18. Chainring is a circa '89 Cheese chainring bolted to a early XTR crankset. need better pedals and saddle, but rides nice for around town and some steep hills. What do you think

how does the chain play? i had to use a tensioner on mine, the vert drop outs left me a half a link shy of perfection.

i have a single speed with horizontal drops. i cant wait to beat the piss out of that thing.

You're going to need the tensioner. Looks good.

Looks good. If it were me, I'd move the chainring to the inside of the spider to allow my rear cog a more inbound position, style points notwithstanding.

I have a tensioner for when I need it. Have had no issues with it popping yet, and beat the crap out of it yesterday and today in the snow.

I wanted to move the chainring inside, but it would hit the chainstay.
