What do you use for eye protection?

Goggles, safety/sport glasses, sunglasses, nothing? What works best in what situations?

Dirty Dog Spin glasses for XC / trail riding; Dirty Dog Moto goggles for DH. Won a razzoo pair of Oakley Radar Paths last season, though, that I'll probably be rockin' on the trail rides just to see if I like them.

I don't like wearing eye protection. I find it gets in my way on the mtb. On the road I will wear sunglasses.

M-frames with orange lenses. I would be blind today if I didn't wear these. (low branches/rocks from rider in front of me)

i got some lightly shaded safety glasses for mtb riding

just about any plastic framed and plastic lens pair of sunglasses will work

you dont want metal and glass wrapped around your face if you take a digger

I've been wearing the Oakley Flak Jacket XLJ with the photochromic lenses. I've also been using the Oakley Radar Path's and think they are just about as perfect a pair of riding glasses you could wear. The XLJ's are good for someone who doesn't want the total bike geek look. The Radar's are for anyone who just wants the best - IMO.

I have a friend who rides without glasses and it doesn't bother him at all, but I freak without coverage.

I don't wear any extra protection. I have tried wearing my road glasses, but they distort my view too much causing me to put my tire in the wrong places. A rock that looks 8" away is actually 11" away, etc. Maybe I will spend the cash for an optically correct pair someday.

Has anyone tried racquetball glasses? I happen to have a pair and they don't distort anything.

I personally never mess around with eye wear - always wear it, even if I have the wrong tint. Every once in a while I get hung up in a mudfest or something like that that forces me not to wear them, but again, that makes me feel real vulnerable. You can get decent work glasses that are clear for cheap, if money is the issue. As far as optical correctness, I guess it is second to not wanting to have an eye poked out for me.

I just wear Ryders Eyewear. ... i think this year i have a set Quasars and Sprint. Always wear them, unless i'm riding in a situation where it's too cold (i wear a balaclava and my breath fogs 'em up). if i can't wear 'em, i ride slower.

i usually get a replacement set a year. I use 'em at work for eye protection, so they get all scratched up. 40$/pair isn't too expensive.

No need to; that's 66's hillbilly wax-job.

I have a permanent eye injury from not having something on, and catching a twig. It's a good idea to wear something folks.

sunglasses with interchangeable lenses dark/rose/yellow. I mostly use the yellow as I ride in the Oregon woods. If exposure is high (like when I ride in Bend), I switch to dark. When I'm going in and out of shade frequently, I use the rose lenses.
