Creeeak, Squeeel...WHY!?

On both disk brakes (front and rear) Whenever i move my wheels slowly, i get a creaking noise, and if im actually riding, i get a squeeling noise. Now, im NOT applying the brakes, just when the wheels move, it makes the noises. If i loosen the pads, the noise stops but i have to loosen them so much, that the brakes dont work! As soon as i get them just a little tighter (so they are actually working a bit) they make noises again! HELP!

Are the pads rubbing on the brakes? That can be fixed by some simple adjusting...

Depending on what brake you have you can spin the wheel around ontill you locate where the squeal is then stop the wheel where it is making the noise where the disc and pads are contacting. Then release the quick release on the rim and next you apply the brake to the lever to hold that position while you lock the rim in place. If you have Avid mechanical disc after doing this you can fine tune the calipers. That's what I do to stop the noise. It works for me, and I notice that every time I take the rim off I have to repeat this process again. Hope this help.
