18" frame size
I have an old junker Timberline All Terra GT that I keep around for fun, but it is labeled as 18"
Anyone know off-hand what height person this would generally be good for? I believe it is too small for me, but I'm not sure just how small it really is. I'm 5' 11 3/4" barefoot with a 33" inseam.
FYI: The seatpost adjusts properly for my leg length to pedals, etc. However if I ever look for a replacement what size should I be looking for? Any opinions on MTB fitting? As critical as road bikes, or not?

Sizing criteria differ, but FWIW I am about your height and I use a size large mtb frame. My current commuter is 18", seems to be ok.

I'm 5'9" w a 32" inseam and I ride an 18 - fits perfect. I can ride a 19" but lack standover (more like a road bike), and a 17" is too small.
I'll lay $ you're a 19" if the bike is fitted properly.

Would that affect the distance from seat post to handlebar as well? A 1 inch diff. seems like it can easily be made up my jacking the seat post height, which I've done.

OK thanks. Just saw this 18" bike listed and they describe the ideal height range for the rider to be 5'04" to about 5'09".

I have the same inseam and I ride a 17.5" Gary Fisher. My Salsa A La Carte is 18". Both fit perfect. You only want smaller if you want to get a 29er. I'm 5'7".

5'7" with a 33" inseam? Wow. Actually I think my inseam is closer to 34". I guess there are other factors that go into sizing that just height and inseam ... I find when I ride this bike I'm way way back on the seat.
