Wwjd?
If Jesus was Pimpin' a HolyHardtail with Hope Pro II hubs...would He keep buying XT/PG990 cassettes or would He order the steel freehub body that Hope offers so He could use PG 950/970 cassettes at $24 a pop?
Jesus isn't concerned about weight b/c he can fly in fiery chariots.
Thx

He wouldn't be messing around with cassettes and derailleurs; he'd have a Rohloff.

How often are you going through cassettes? I've had my PG-950 on my bike for almost a year and that is supposed to be a low end cassette. But I guess if you're going through them quick then you might want to buy the freehub body and use cheeper ones. But then again you might go through those even quicker and end up spending even more money. I've had the same dilemma with buying more expensive/higher quality chains.

I used to run my chains until they got 0.75 of stretch. Then replace. Usually go through 3 chains then a cassette, 3 more chains then a cassette and rings.
Now...I run my chain until it skips a tooth. Lasts alot longer. (prob. a yr)
I don't mind running the high end crap, but it's not all that necessary. I actually wouldn't mind adding a little weight to the rear end of my bike to balance out the Domain

I think he'd take the cheapest, most dilapidated bike he can find, fix it up with his healing powers, then do whatever he wanted with it cause he's frikkin Jesus. Kids trike no-handed DH without a helmet. The bike and he would be in better condition after the race than before.
If you're getting one 990 every 3 years, I wouldn't bother adding the steel cap and going with cheaper cassettes. Jenson has the 990 for under $60 atm, $20 a year seems reasonable to have a nice high-end cassette.

I think he'd make Moses wander Moab for 40 years without being able to find a ride back home.
And I think he'd ride that 2" skinny 40 feet above the forest floor with an off dish in the back wheel.
