    Colors

My dad is getting a plating kit. I will soon be able to plate certain metals onto other metals. I could do my own anodizing as well.

I want to keep my frame white.

I'm thinking of anodizing my rims and maybe spokes white. Currently everything is black.

I'm thinking i could anodize my handle bars... perhaps stem. Both are black.

Then I could swap out my grips for a nice color? Right now they're black.

I could do my crank arms too. The paint is rubbing off 'cause of my shoes. Maybe I could plate 'em in copper or something.

    What would you do?

    haha, i could do purple.

I like white. I also like blue. I suppose I'm not too creative when it comes to color. Perhaps white frame, spokes, rims. Blue stem, cranks, handle bar. White grips. Perhaps I could do my fork as well, but I'm a little hesitant.

I'm just wondering what OTHER people would do if they could color anything they wanted. It's hard to get fully customized parts (well, I haven't seen affordable white cranks anywhere!). So... what would your colors be?

i'd gold plate my frame cause thats how baller i am, roll up to fixie hipsters and just slap them in the face byaaaa

but really on a black bike: blood orange, or dark red, or better yet copper plate the derail, spoke nips, grip lockrings, stem cap. seatpost clamp, quick release, shifters, brake levers, leave the rest black. That would look cool.

fyi you can't ano spokes, they are steel, anodizing is and oxidizing process, on steel it just makes rust

also white ano is really really hard to do well i've heard

It's like a "dyeing" process for cetian metals.

    Its not paint, nor powdercoat.

I think your putting to much white on the bike.

Gold and white dont look very good either,

I'm thinking you should do a white/ dark blue type thing.
the Copper cranks might be a nice accent, its hard to tell.

--The gold plate would be sweet, Have you seen GT's Trophy Bike? its all gold, with carbon accents.... it's amazing looking

Don't let dminor hear you. His Blindside's got a bunch of white, with a gold decal, and looks pretty damn solid. (His wheels don't hurt either...)

I actually like black and white color schemes, but it looks like you're trying to get rid of the black. Could you get your cranks to match your stanchions (whether that's gold/silver/etc?). Maybe get your bars the same color as that? I personally wouldn't go with white grips...they look pretty sharp, but I would think they get dirty pretty easily. You said you like blue...maybe get lock-ons with blue collars, and then go blue headset/blue pedals/blue accented saddle/blue quick releases?

Oh, Nothing against it, I personally just aint a fan of white a gold. I'll admit some bikes have pulled it off, but it tough to tell until afterward.

IMHO Blue and White looks pretty good. (Saw a fuel here, decked in blue and white, looks pretty good)

If it's a plating kit, it could be electroplate instead of anodizing, in which case he *can* do steel.

    Green, black and white.

Definatly a while frame, not sure what colouts I'd put where beyond that, maybe green wheels, white handlebars and stem etc, white stea post and saddle and then black details everywhere.

wasn't going to go gold and white. I'm not a huge fan of gold .

I like the idea of matching my fork stanchions with the cranks. My stanchions are a gray color right now, which I don't like too much. Perhaps if I went for a blue fork + the blue cranks... that'd be pretty sick.

when something happens (it has to get a bit warmer out), I'll definitely take some pics and show you the mess i made .

OK here is what I would do

    ALL white with red accents.
    white- frame, bars,rims
    Red ---stem, cranks, spokes
Might incorporate the use of black to use as an outline in some places.

Draw it out on paper, let's do a poll ..............

i'm just concerned about dipping some parts into the solution.

i'm not going into detail about how the process works...

would sticking a fork underwater ruin the fork? I'd have to do this to anno it blue, and I'm concerned that the submersion might ruin the fork's performance. I'm sure a crank arm would be fine, but for the fork?

Can't you take the lowers off, and just seal it up really good so nothing fills it, plug up all holes and such, and then send it off to the dip-tanks?
