Looks like more than 50 miles by the Rash. How are you a senior member and only posted once, and not sure of an "Fair" deal.

Looks like he has 197 posts to me, not sure what makes one a senior member though.
Check out his profile it lists all posts he has made.

Think it only takes like 50-60 posts to become a senior around here...

It's not a smoking deal. It's really just kinda "meh". I picked up a leftover brand new 08 Gary Fisher Tarpon from the local LBS for $220 that's essentially the same bike. Well, it was until I got done with it

Frame's durable, but the saddle, Sora FD, the Suntour crank and the Acera RD were the first to hit the trash on mine. Then the wheels and the front fork, then the shifters and the handlebar. I kept the seatpost though Mine's full 9 speed Deore with discs now and a rigid fork and it's a fun bike to ride. I use it as a backup commuter and running the neighborhoods with the wife.

I don't see any rash on that bike though, just dirt. That's what water is for.

Considering what idiots are trying to sell there way outdated bikes on craigslist and ebay for. Thats not too bad of a deal in my eyes. A 09 from a shop will be at close to $400. with tax. New bikes have gone up in price alot the past two years.
Did they really put Sora Ft Der on those things? That is a road Der, and a crappy one at that.

2009 3700 only MSRP's at $379 and that's after the 20% price hike from 2008. 1/2 the 2008's were sold at the old price, hike went in in October. My LBS sells at MAP, which puts it about $339-$349. That's new with warranty and free LBS tuneups. the 2008 GF I picked up was stickered at $269. The 3700 would have been the same price within a couple $. I have two 3700's bought for the kids last year, I paid $279 each for them in Aug 2008. Just checked the reciept.

Around here 3700's are going for $200-$250 on CL. A 3500 just went up for $125

And they come with a Shimano C051 (MTB equiv of Sora) on the front mated to a Suntour 48/38/28 stamped steel crank (non-interchangeable rings)

Yeah, and the 2007 was $279.99 per Bikepedia. They went up like $20 in 2008 then jumped in price toward the end of the year.

The deal the OP found was alright, but nothing to brag about. Better bikes could be found for the same $.

Like I said though, bike's a lot of fun, and they hold up to mods fairly well..
