Handle Grip problem

Well im new to this forum so im keeping it short and sweet. I own a Trek 3900 mountain hardtail '08. My hand Grips seem they are too long, Its hard to describe but there is a small amount of the grip hanging off the metal, And it does interfere with my riding, any help is greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you need to move the shifters and brake levers over-a-tad~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~++~+~+~+~++~ Then use liquid nails to keep them in place :innocent:

I just kidding about the nails ;)

wont that mess up the paint?

Every Trek I have here has had the same thing happen. Loosen the trigger shifter/brake assembly and slide it toward the stem, push the grips all the way on then slide the shifters back and tighten. While the Liquid Nails thing was a joke I'm sure, I've found popping the grip and squirting hairspray in them then sliding them on will keep them in place.

ODI lock-ons?

Yes.......lock on grips. Throw the stock grips away before they hurt you.

Well i am keeping the grips, only because fishing season is coming up and hey, i can only afford to go overboard in 1 hobby atm, but using pairs of chopsticks i managed to slide them up and its great, they were too tight to just slide, hence the chopsticks. lol.
