Hello everyone, I just got into Mountain biking after being bmx rider for years. I am oversees in japan and picked up a giant Rock1 , I have searched online but couldn't find much information about this bike. does it have an U.S. equilvalent with a different name or anything like that?

They sell them in Europe too. They don't appear to be sold in the United States. Click here.

It'd be equivalent to either the Yukon, Rincon or Boulder models, it's got a mixture of parts that'll be found on all those models.

The 2009 Rock 1 from Japan and it's Full Specs

Thanks for the answers, is this a decent entry level bike or is it kind of a piece of crap? Are there any componets that really should/could be replaced or upgrade? Like I said before I'm new to the sport but from the few times I have been out I know I'm gonna get into it big time, it's a blast. mostly the area I ride is cross country with a few steep fast downhills.

Ride until it breaks. Maybe upgrade brakes if you are worried about those DH sections.
