Multi-impact bike helmets?

Hey all,

I've used a cheap-o wal-mart Bell helmet for the last 4-5 years and I think it's time for a replacement. As far as i remember, it hasn't suffered any major structure-destroying accidents.... but I'd rather be safe.

For a while a friend and I used CCM hockey helmets (with cages to keep branches and whatnot out of our face), but I read that they shouldn't be used b/c they aren't rated for high speed impacts (hockey pucks to the face aren't high speed?)... Is that a viable solution or just steer clear completely?

Also, what kind of MTB-rated multi-impact helmets exist (if any)?

Thanks

Ps-I've been on the forum for a while, just haven't posted, whoops...

How much are you looking to spend on a helmet?

Money isn't as important as my noggin

I don't want top-of-the-line, but I don't want a beater either. So a reasonable, middle-of-the-road or slightly better option.
