To start off, are you speaking of the GT Avalanche 1.0 Disc that retails for $600? https://www.gtbicycles.com/mountain/c...etail.php?id=2

Secondly, Scott USA aren't actually available in the US. Wierd huh? So, I'm/we're not very familiar with Scott's bikes.

Regarding the GT, I think it's comparable to other bikes. Fit is the most important. Have you test ridden it? How does it compare to all the other bikes you've test ridden? You HAVE test ridden a lot of bikes haven't you? If not, start!

I see... thanks for your opinions! I have tried on Avalaunch 2.0 and Nocco bikes, they are very good but now i am going for Avalunch 1.0 without disc brakes. I need a lighter bike you see, hahaz!

If you need a lighter bike, then the avalanche frame isn't for you. I think it's double tubed or something like that. Mine weighs a good 35pounds, which is very much for a hardtail. It rides firm though.
