    how to tell what fork my bike takes?

    hey guys
    i have a shwinn moab ds 3 mountain bike yestarday was out riding the left shock cap blue out so i think its time to up grade the forks but im not sure how to tell what size i need to order so any help you can give would be great and what would be a good replacement i was thinking of spending around $150.00

    Steps to frok'n'roll:
    1. determine the type of stem (threaded / nonthread)...I'd bet my granny's undies that it's non-threaded
    2. Measure the fork steerer tube diameter. (1" or 1 1/8") I'd bet the same that it's 1 1/8".
    3. Measure the length of the steerer tube from the top of the fork crown to the top of the tube.
    4. Make sure you buy a new fork with the right steerer tube diameter, length, and orientation (gay, straight, threaded, non-threaded, etc...)
