Suspension advice needed

Hey folks. Just needed a little advice on some suspension parts. Right now, I'm riding an 02' Marin Rocky Ridge (17") with a Judy C fork, 6'1" tall and currently weigh 270. This fork has a pretty nice ride to it, but it's abit too soft for me. So my question was, how would a 03' Manitou Black Elite handle with firm springs in it? Does anyone know what springs they come with? I ask cause this fork is on sale for around $200 right now(disc only with no brake boss). $200 being pretty much my limit. And another question, anyone had expierience with a Cane Creek Thudbuster seatpost? Not really looking to make the hardtail a softy, just trying to keep the soft ass from becoming to hard.

the springs it comes with arent that tuff.
so u might want to get heavier ones for a heavier rider like you. ive ridden them and i can bottom them out on a 4 foot drop, heavier springs makes it a great fork.

The stock springs in any fork are "medium" ideal for a person in the 165 lb range the firm springs are good in the 200 lb range anything more and you're looking at extra firm springs. Personally I'm in the 250 - 260 range and I can't stand Manipoo's they're way too flexy for my tastes. Here's a page with someother ideas - better prices https://www.pricepoint.com/thumb/3-Pa...ories-True.htm
