Need opinions on a GT FS frame.
I know someone who has a brand new never built up 2006 GT i-drive 42.0 frame for sale. Asking price is $200. Will also come with a few extra parts. I have been riding nothing but hardtails for the past couple of years. Is this frame worth buying and building? Or should I look for something else. I know the GT hardtails are bomb prove, but i have never really heard any thing about there FS frames. Here is the the bike built from the factory.

Dude for 200 bucks I think it would be pretty good. I am not completely sold on the I-drive system because it is a semi URT design but after watching a couple of demos on youtube I have to say I am pretty intrigued. Esp for 200 bucks.

Main reason I am asking is because it is a warranty replacement frame from GT. He cracked the one prior. So i wanted to know if that was a common problem. I am a big fan of Gary Fisher hardtails. But I would never buy a Gary Fisher FS bike. I have known several people who have had them and they had been nothing but problems, and that does not include what I have read.

No problem. But seeing as no one else on here has chimed in at all, makes me think the frame is not worth my time. In my neck of the woods, I don't see very many GT's around at all. But sometimes that is due to lack of dealerships in area's

Personally I wouldn't touch something from a company with a history of sale after sale and different marketing methods and support like GT. Gary Fisher ain't so hot either. There's better.
