I got a new rig. It is a Meriwether Cycles custom ripper.

I have a 120mm Bluto for dry riding which kicks the HTA out to like 67.5ish

Man... that thing looks like it'd be great on the downhill and climbs... long wheelbase.

^^ Cool bike. Do you have a boot on a dropper seat post? I'm curious because I have an older Gravity Dropper laying around and I'd probably put it on my wife's bike with a boot like that, but she refuses to ride with the ugly rubber boot and I refuse to ruin a perfectly good seatpost by running it without a boot.

Yep, I made one based on an old nylon shock protector my brother bought me back in the day. It has a folded / sewn seam section at the top and bottom where zip ties are used to secure the ends.

I never used it on my rear shock, but one day, I noticed that it fits my seatpost perfectly. So I made more for my other bikes.

Now that I'm thinking about it, you can probably use a section of an old inner tube. Just zip tie the ends and you'd be good to go.

Picked this up on Friday. Was time for something new. Old one just didnt do it anymore. Went by the LBS to see what they had. Giant Talon 27.5, rode well, Not a hardcore ride, but should do me fine. Will change a few things.

Finally finihsed a long-needed update to my '93 Cannondale Super V 1000. New 75mm front fork (the Gen 1 headshok was blown out and collapsed), new wheels, 8-speed cassette (originally was 7), disk brake conversion, new chain and cables. Really wanted to re-paint it, too. But, got lazy.

'93's aren't possible to make a Uber-V from due to the limited rear travel (75mm). But, it should make a good rails-to-trails bike. I've had this bike since '97. No sense in parting with it now...

I just picked up a karate monkey ops for bikepacking, but have been playing with it on the trails. I think I like more than my full suspension, it's just so much fun to ride.

Noice. What are you using for a front derailleur? I can't find any with a 30mm clamp, or else shims to go in a 31.8mm clamp. I'm hoping to avoid using beercan shims, but I'll do what I have to.

My first MTB ... 2015 Jamis Trail X Sport, RST Gila front suspension with lockout, Altus derailleur and 27.5 wheels.
I couldn’t help myself, fell in love with the bike when I was just browsing the bike store.
Mostly a roadie guy, but after riding on local trails I'm loving it.

Think I'm finally done with this...other than the bikepacking gear I need to buy for it. This bike is so fun to ride, I'm seriously considering selling my full suspension.

2016 Karate Monkey Ops, everything is stock unless otherwise listed below:
Hope Pro4 hubs, Stans Arch Ex rims, Maxxis Ardent gumwalls
Thomson stem
Deity Saddle
Canfield Bros Crampon Ultimates
Supacaz lock on grips
KS ETen Dropper (cheap, and works just as well as my thomson dropper that was 3x the price)
