I have a 2007 gary fisher cobia. Ever since I bought it, the back wheel has been rubbing up against the frame. There are now 4 really deep contact points on my frame where you can see the tire is rubbing against. It useally does this when I hammer on the pedals for an uphill, or tight cornering.
My local bike shop keeps telling me it's normal, but I have to disagree. Even going up a hill I can "feel" it rubbing and taking energy away. I know it's normal for wheels and frames to flex, but it seems to be getting worst.
It seems to me like this is a design flaw by gary fisher, not enough clearance was designed into the frame for the flex of a 29 inch wheel. Is this kind of thing covered under warranty? My bike shop says no, but after doing business with them for over 2 years, they are pretty amateurish, in that not many actual cyclist, they just sell bikes in the off season of skiing.
Any help would be appreciated.
