Aluminum seat post is durable or not?
Aluminum seat post is enough durable and affordable? My rear rack is single arm that is installed to the seat post with less then 20 Lb load.

Your basic aluminum seat post should be good enough to attach your rack. A lot of the stock posts that come on bikes can hold that kind of stress considering you are of average weight yourself.

Affordable is a relative term, how much are you willing to spend? Thomson's aren't cheap. Losts of cheaper stuff out there if you aren't shaving grams! I love Thomson seatposts myself because of their clamping system, but your lookin at $80 bucks or so.

Any seatpost that can support the rider's weight will support the additional 20lbs from a rack mounted seat post. I see Richey seatpost on sale all the time for less than $40, it'll handle your rack.
