Best Quiet Drivetrain for a Stumpjumper
Looking for a good quiet drivetrain. My drivetrain seems to be a bit noisy, and I would mostly attribute this to the bottom bracket, or perhaps the crankset. Regardless, I'm thinking about upgrading just the crankset. Right now I'm running a shimano m762 crankset, Shimano M581 LX Front Derailleur, and sram x-9trigger shifters.

Hum, I think you should figure out where the noise is coming from and fix that. It's entirely possible you won't have to spend any money at all...unless you don't own grease.

You might want to describe the noise. The mechanics forum might be a better place for this sort of question. Sheldon Brown has a detailed page on trouble shooting random noises.

Yup. OP may be looking at properly tuning up rather than a drivetrain replacement.
