Suspension Forks, help please.
Hello eveybody.
I have a Merida Matts SUB 40D bike that came with RST forks. I don't like them and I want new ones. I was looking at the Rock Shox Recon SL:https://www.merlincycles.co.uk/marzoc...-recon-sl.html. Are these good forks, and is the 2010 version available yet? My intended purpose is a bit of cross country, 30cm drops and what not. Thanks.

The Recon is a bit higher up the line than the Tora. I personally would lean towards a Recon. All things being equal, the Recon should be a bit lighter than a similar Tora, as the uppers (the stanchions) are aluminum. The Tora runs steel uppers. Also, some of the very lower-end Tora forks do not have motion-control damping.
My son has a Recon on his bike. His model has an air-spring rather than the coil-spring you are looking at. He and I have been very happy w/it.
