alright so i have more questions, im disassembling my rear hub for cleaning purposses and going to repack it. ive taken off the cassette nut/lockring and have the cassette off.
ive taken out the cone nut and nut from the non-drive side
ive taken out the axle
ive takne out the bearings from the drive side
and now im stuck, i cant figure what comes out next. im my pics ive included theres one from each drive and non-drive sides. in the pic with the bearings still in it there is a cover in the picture you can see that holds them in, do i take this off and if i do how.
in the other pic (drive side) you see the cup where the bearings sat, i also see a ring with notches on either side of each other so i was thinking this comes out next, but how? is it threaded?

ultimatley what im trying to do is to take it apart, clean it, repack it so its like new. i also want to get to the pawls because there is some gritty feel when i turn the spindle. this is my first time doing this so any help is appreciated

The bearing cover should pop out with some gentle leverage. The freewheel unscrews via a 10mm allen(the indentations are barely visible in the first photo). Be forewarned: you may not be able to do much with the freewheel besides flush it out with solvent and drizzle in some oil. Good luck! Oh, by the way, a magnet helps to collect the bearings.

The freehub can be spun and flushed spun and flushed a bunch, then set on end to dry overnight. Drizzle in some 30wt. or such, spin it a bunch, and let the excess oil drain out. Don't try to put grease in there or the pawls in the freehub may get stuck and not engage. This is the way 99% of people do this (bike mechanics, at least).

There is a special tool to actually take the freehub apart, but most folks just don't think it's worth it to go that far.
