Candy C and difficulty

Okay, got a pair of Candy C today for the bike. I'm having some difficulty clipping in, but expect that will get better with practice. Any suggestions on that learning curve?

However, the bike shop set up the cleats for me, so I know very little about them. The right foor rotates out easily, no problem. The left requires much more to get out. Can these be adjusted? If so how? Do the cleats that come with the pedals come in a certain setup? Any info would be appreciated.
