Annual Capp's Bike Shop Moonlight Ride!!

I don't know why I'm posting this...b/c it's tomorrow night:lol:

Every year in September, Capp's Bike Shop here in town puts on the Moonlight Ride. It is pud, street, but sooo freakin' fun!! It's all about the atmosphere. Think...120 flashy, red tail lights strung out across the city at night. Starts at the shop and hits a paved path that continues for about 5-6mi. Curves onto a street and continues to the main drag. At this point, there are some refreshments...then you either continue through a ritzy neighborhood for another 8-10mi of dark boredom, or you head back the way you came and get busy on some freakin' food, yo!!

Burgers and dogs, grilled chicken, shrimp, other finger-food crap...pop...whatevah. Live music and time to chill.

It was a real struggle trying to decide on which bike to ride b/c I considered the Schwinn b/c it's a pimp roadie...then there's the crapper. But B2B talked me into represent'n fo da MTB gang...so I committed myself to the Komodo...

A helmet, headlight, and tail light is required, but this year...

I borrowed the lights from my dad's Harley...they have a computer box that makes 'em fade like 15 different ways from Blue/grn/red/yellow...er...uhh...sump'n. Remote control even. Heck man...I can even make 'em all flash.

I even got myself a giant graphic equalizer strapped to my Dakine Drafter that bounces to the tunes coming outta my phone:

If I were in NY...I surly would:lol:

It's not about the ride though...it's about looking forward (for a whole year) to spending the evening with 100-120 bikers with 1 common goal...to ride enough before hand to be able to eat all that freakin' food!!

we have the full moon cruise once a year here, it was last weekend actually. I missed it though :/

The ride RAWK'd! Chill atmosphere.

HarlieJ, B2B, Mrs. B2B, Sis, and several others showed up for the fun. There were scores of peeps that I didn't know as well. The lights worked well. My headlight battery pack is 'bout ready to give up the ghost. Time to slide into the new genre of non NiCad systems. We clipped along 19mi pretty dang fast so we could get back to the food...which also RAWK'd.

We were ballin OTW back to the shop through 6mi of windy bike path (wide sidewalk) with plenty of blind corners at our pace probably 2-3 a-breast at times...that kept us on our toes man...not chill, but fun. I spent the whole trip back in my highest gear.

'Twas a great night.

Ed was Pimpin, I saw a rodie in front of me grind his sholder on a rock wall for about three feet, He seemed to have the blind stares. Most people rode the fat tires because of needing to be ready for anything. Parts of it seem more like a figure eight race. he he. It was a great time with awesome food.

I'm hoping it'll turn into a local "Burning Man Festival"!

I'll borrow a tandem...my stoker will be a blow up doll or a maniquin...(not naked, there are kids there ya know)
I can pull a trailer with a cooler for refreshments for those who know...
Low rydah lights again...
I'll use both my Ryobi 18v LiIon spot lights for extra rearward facing light for those dopes who's lights pooped out...they can just follow the train!

The wheels in my head are a turning!
