if you guys/girls were caught in a situation where u had to choose between a - sweet car and ****ty bike - decent car and decent bike - or ****ty car and sweet bike....what would you guys/girls pick....im in this situation and i'm thinking about ****ty car...and a sweet bike....but i would appreciate yors guys opinion...lemme have it

Well whats the ****ty car? And whats the sweet bike? I'd probably go with ****ty car (as long as it runs) and the sweet bike.

Let me go ahead and be the final word here. I'll sort this one out for you. Is it easier to push a crappy bike up a hill, or push a crappy car up a hill?

It's nice to be able to drive if and when you have to.

Get a decent (reliable) car and take care of it, and get a decent bike. You know you'll end up upgrading the bike anyway, and it would suck to have to put that money toward fixing a POS car.

I agree. I find cars are too expensive but too practical. So I'd minimize my car expenses if I needexd one, and then decide what to do with your money. Just to give some perspective, you're familiar with the deminishing returns of buying a high end bike, but that same deminishing returns exists in low end cars (i.e. another $1000 will get you a sweeter ass bike, and a fairly better car). And I realized how much of a hipocrite I am as I worked in the car industry.

Get the nice bike. Rent a car when you need one! You'll save thousands a year and be in better physical/mental condition.

I doubt BigD's mental condition would be very good after a Michigan winter with only a bike for transportation.

I'm sort of having that same dillema... only I can't afford to get a bike and a car. I'd say that with a car get something that will do what you need it to do (keep you warm during winter and be able to handle the snow) and will not require a lot of money because it is breaking down all the time. then you could spend the rest on a bike.

yea....no car....winter's...not fun...the bus could get me everywhere i'd need to go...but a car is nice for personal use for going on trips with the bike...right? wrong?

Some of you forget that not everyone lives in rural areas, where i live(Philadelphia suburbs) its too dangerous to be riding a bike all the time. dont get me wrong i like to take my bike out, but the roads around here are too horible to commute with a bike. I ride my bike to work now and then, but im glad i dont hafto do it. i would go with the reliable car, its the American thing to do.LOL

well it just depends how ****ty the ****ty car is, because if it runs then its fine. Personally I'd go with the ****ty car and sweet bike

i'd go decent car and decent bike. That way you dont run the risk of either of them being really sh*tty and breaking on you

but then that's where the problem is...he'll have a decent car which is fine, but i find decent bikes are good enough, i gotta have a great bike
