I have an 08 Stumpjumper FSR comp and I love it. I don't know what your budget is but 2010 Stumpjumper FSR comp starts at $2200, which is $300 cheaper then last years Stumpy FSR.
Here is the link.

Word of advice...if I'm seriously looking for some honest, well thought out, and accurate reviews of a product I'm considering purchasing...
...MTBR is the last place I look. Most of the reviews I seem to read there are written within the honeymoon period of the product. "Initial Impressions" would be a more accurate phrase.
The non-honeymooners are generally idiots who have only ridden what they have and couldn't compare it to anything else in an educated manner.
Especially the "weakness" section:
Top of the line carbon Rush - Weaknesses: Rear suspension does not work like intended - Fox Shox Sux.
It's not Fox's fault you don't know how to set it up properly.
Same bike: Weaknesses: dont care much for the grips...
Are you kidding me??? Grips are your gripe?
Fisher 293 - Weaknesses: I have the 03 sugar 293 and my only complaint is that I tend to hit every rock, rook etc with my pedals and chain ring while going over logs. I would like to know if others have this similar issue with newer models???
Answer - learn how to ride MohRawn.
Giant Anthem X0 - Weaknesses: The bike should come with 7" front and 6" rear rotor. I.e Scott spark/scale,
The frame is very light for and aluminium frame so its dents very easily!
Well it is an XC race bike there Freddy...6x6" max rotor size for a $6000 cross country weight wiener....doofie-dong!
Same bike - Weaknesses: Stock grips
It appears that those who have spent their college money on a bike didn't have the foresight to save $20 for their grip of choice.
Here's a doozie...this is a classic example of the idiot who doesn't know any better:
Jamis Dakar - Strengths: (2006 Jamis Dakar)7005 T-6 Aluminum frame, full suspension, great stock components like, Manitou Splice Comp
I MUST agree with this knob...I highly recommend the Manitou Splice Comp...top notch work there, Dillweed.
Same bike - Weaknesses: Owners Manual- it’s generic
Well...aren't they all! Dumb, donkey, browneye!
Just like the Anthem above...you can always count on a moronic yuppie made of money to go out and buy one of the S-Works duallies and piss'n'moan about something foolish:
$8000 S-Works Epic - Weaknesses: Max rotor size on rear 160mm
Serious? I mean really? What are you a Clyde riding on a glass slipper?
Same bike - Weaknesses: too many moving parts but this is my first fully. i havent had the first problem with this bike. there is no weakness to this machine
Too many moving parts is the weakness...but wait...there's "no weakness"...but your first dually is 8k? Spoiled freakin...
Same bike - Weaknesses: a little more heavy than a hardtail but it is more than that it also a Full Suspension
You must have won the 8k in a paint-huffing contest.
Here's the S-Works Stumpy FSR - Weaknesses: tires
Tires? C'mon...that's almost as bad as grips. Just take some of Daddy's Estate money and get some tires for your geo.
Demo 7 - Weaknesses: Some areas where paint will rub off from cable routing.
Some areas of paint will rub off from tanking that 20' drop, Nancy!

I demo-ed one not too long ago on our local trail here in VA. It is a fantastic bike, climbs well when you are out of the saddle, very comfortable for lengthy rides, gives you a lot of confidence when descending. It looks great too. If I had the money I would get one and use it as my epic ride bike. It's a great deal for an XT-ed out bike too. You won't be disappointed. Try and find a shop that carries the Force and get the right fit.

No worries, I don't know if anyone here has the same bike but even if they did I doubt you'll be hearing anything different.

Lies...
It's not "so much more"...XT is a better product. No doubt. I think most of us would be fine with it but we're too snobby to have any LX or SLX componentry because we may be labeled "blue collar"...oh no...OMG
SLX is fine.

well, i have both. i should say LX and XT. the bike with LX needs 3x more tinkering with then XT. while riding the XT gives me more performance, especially when needed. the LX always seems to let me down on those climbs where u just need it to work. you can still ride LX, and have fun no doubt. XT puts the cherry on top and makes me

I am on all XT/XTR now and tinker just as much as when I was on all LX or X.9.
No doubt that XT is a better product.

^^^ x2
yes, they let me have it for 1800+tax and 10% back on the member card. my concern was the frame/geometry ride and fun factor. so far, owners love it, and I'm hoping, so will I
I agree on one thing with you - XT is a better product! and, (arguably) it performs better, hence the better monicker
Thats not to say that LX/SLX does not do the job its intended for.
