My son started MTB riding with me when he was about 9. We did tons of riding and did a lot of racing, including a couple of Norba Nationals. Some of my best memories of my life.

My description of our times riding together: "We're going down the trail with our tongues hangin' out!"

I hope my 4 year old rides half as well when he gets his first bike at the end of this month (for an early 5 year birthday present). I'm gonna take the cranks off and let him learn balance first.

Thanks. He's taking to the new bike really well. He's been on clipless pedals for the past week. And that is going pretty well also. He likes it because he can bunny hop when clipped in.
