My First Bike - I'm worried its a fake Bianchi
Hi all. I'm 22 and I've just bought my first MTB (used) after becoming interested in the sport.
Upon a friend's advise, I managed to purchase a Bianchi Mutt 7400 for 550USD off a local bike forum. Suntour Raidon Fork, ABR handle bar saddle post, Mavic 319 rims, Deore LX set, Wellgo pedals, Avid brake controls. Serial number on the bottom of the Bianchi frame reads MS0512105 and has the alphabets "RY" printed near it.
My concern is that I might have gotten a fake Bianchi (due to it's low price and great condition), but I've really got no idea of how to go about truly identifying it. Most of the components are in great condition too.
The "Bianchi" stickers are not of great quality.
Should I be worried? Advise anybody?
Please also let me know if I've happened to post in the wrong thread.
Thank you!

i cant find one in that color or with that fork. what year is it? even if it is a fake, it still has great components for $550. i dont think you were ripped off. plus i dont see why someone would go through the trouble of making a "fake" one. the frame looks like some of the other ones. I wouldnt worry about it.

Those parts don't seem to match up to specs on Bianchi's site archives at first look.

Any gauge on what the value on this would be?
I've tried searching the archives for the Bianchi website, and eBay seems to have a ton of the exact same type of stickers on the frame. I've also emailed Bianchi and am waiting for a reply. Hopefully it's all good!

How does it ride? If it rides well for $550, who cares if it's fake? It's not likely to become a collector's item, nor is there a "Pebble Beach Concourse d'Elegance" for mountain bikes.

I just hit a pretty tough MTB trail, had a really bad fall cause I was too scared and ended up jamming my brakes. Bike feels good, but I wouldn't trust em Suntour forks much.

+1 on Suntour forks. I crashed and bent mine, but it wasn't what I'd call a bad crash at all.

Skyn where do you live? in the states? near Canada? the bikes sold by Bianchi USA are different than the bikes sold elsewhere. Bianchi USA unfortunatly never did a good job of tracking bikes. they do not have much a serial number base (even on the Reparto Corse frames and bikes). it is always possible the color was changed during the production run, or a different fork used. most all bike companies have a disclaimer to that effect in there catalog.
if someone was going to sell a fake Bianchi they would be selling much more expensive bikes. Grizzlies, Super Grisslies, road bikes like X4s Centenarios, Argitines and other highly sought bikes.

I'm way over here in Singapore, thus there isn't much information around. The previous owner only told me that he had shipped it in from Europe. Any idea how much the frame would have been worth?
I'm hoping to upgrade the fork real soon too!
