Tires?

I need some new tires, the trails I ride are mostly loose dirt with lots of roots, not very much mud. A lot of loose climbs. Could some on point me in a direction. One guy at a shop told me to try WTB Exiwolfs. I currently have Michelin X-Trems, the traction is great but they have WEAK sidewalls, thats why I need new tires. thanks

I've got Specialized Fast Tracks that I use for the same conditions. I've had them for 3 years now and I keep coming back to them. Haven't got many flats at all with them and the newer version of that tire is supposed to be lighter, faster and just as strong.

Kenda Excavators grip like a monkey on crack. (so that didn't make any sense)

They grip good.

Best all around tires in my opinion are Geax Sturdy 2.25's, a combo of Schwalbe Big Betty front/Fat Albert rear, or Hutchinson Spyders 2.3. The Sturdy's are like monster truck tires in height so make sure they fit in the rear. If not, put a Sturdy 2.1 back there and you are good to go

Second Ed's Excavator recommend. I've run mine all season in everything from perfect-tack DG to rocks to loose powder dirt to wet roots and slick rocks on Whistler's Garbanzo and they have gripped it all well. I've run 'em down to 15-20 psi and never had the sidewalls try to squirm out from under me.

Never tried the Excavator but I love the Kenda Nevegal DTC. Great tire.

my Maxxis Ignitors work well for the variety of terrains here in Germany.
Rocky/sandy/hilly/roots/wet/dry/muddy.. we got it all here.
