I recognized the Original Sin>Blue Velvet>In Deep route. Impressive; especially In Deep. I tip my hat to the gnardtail pilots.

Hahaha, it's funny people are questioning the "speeding up" of the vid. I'm guessing they're just jealous they can't ride DH on a HT like that (or even on a FS). Keep in mind Whistler has some steep trails and it's super easy to keep up speed. Plus I'm guessing he rides there a lot and knows the Whistler trails very well.
I'm more impressed with the fact that the kid is ripping it up without any pads on (some of the Garbonzo stuff at Whistler is steep, rocky, and rooty - not the type of stuff you want to crash on). But I'm disappointed he took the small GLC drop at the end rather than the big one (not really disappointed, it was a good vid).

I never doubted the realtime speed on this, although there's some slow-mo at the end.
Blew me away that he wasn't wearing pads, though.
His skills are quite apparent. Notice his weighting/unweighting, key handling stuff.

Bro no body is jealous of the kid, I just pointed out the obvious. Go back and watch that video again and you'll see.
Here are the most noticeable times that you can see the sped up parts of it.
0:49, 1:26-1:45 and watch 2:26 very carefully you'll actually see the speed changing. There were some more but I don't feel like posting every second of the video.

Ok, after watching the vid a few times and having shot more than my share of video, IMO the speed has been cranked up 2x or 1.5x. That said, it takes NOTHING away from that kids skills...some of the best riding I have seen and that includes watching some professional DH riders here on the West coast. He is not just riding the trail...he's attacking it and the beauty is that he is in complete control. That vid should put a smile on any riders face.
Chel, is it indeed a 29er...looks like a 26 to me, but maybe you see something I missed.
Edit: OK Chel, agree that it sure looks like a 29er. Hats off to the camera person(s)...definitely knows how to operate a camera..angles, position, panning, damn nice footage.

Sigh. It's not a 29er, and it's not sped up.
Dude's name is Jinya Nishiwaka, and he rides/works with/for Chromag.
Suck it.

Crazy good either way. That kid is so light on the pedals, he almost makes that bike float. WOW!

Wow! How could you tell if it was sped up say-25%? You really can't see any prolonged peddling, and if it was just modestly sped up, you couldn't make anything out of it anyway.
The only thing that seems unreal is how well he corners. He seems to take 90 degree turns at 20+ fps(guessing at distances) roughly 15 mph.
I can't tell.
