Sound like a scam?

Seemed like it probably would be before I even e-mailed, but hey:
http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/d...447065010.html

I asked for more photos and he replied:

Ii will show it Tues at 6 pm at the UHaul (rear fenced area) on South Capitol Street across from Nationals Park.

Sketchy?

Thanks. How would you know though? Different location? Down there is a very secluded area in a not so great part of DC, by the way. Right by where the bridge to Maryland is. Not somewhere I want to be after dark.. which 6 is..

You guys are too cautious.
I've already sent him a cheque for $1000 with instructions to ship the bike and leftover cash back to me.
Did I mention that I'm also a doctor?

Maybe a scam, maybe stolen, maybe the seller works at UHaul and gets off at six?

Go. Don't bring cash. If you make a deal, tell him you'll meet him there in another half hour or so, then go hit up an ATM.

That makes sense. Buy a $630 vest to protect me from losing $125

That is a pretty good deal though (the bike) in't it?

I know the area well and I would not meet anyone there at 6pm. You're smart to think that too.
Tell him noon...... maybe.

You could tell him to go to the waterfront by the restuarants?

As others have stated, me thinks a little Italy T-shirt may be in order. . . But to quote the great Robert De Niro "Whenever there's any doubt, there is no doubt"
