Advice on buying a Mountain Bike

Hi,

I want to buy an MTB for messing around on the trails in the Forestry close to my house. I have approx €700 to spend as a Chrissy present. What's the best bike I can get for this budget? Is there anything out there that's an end of line bike that I can really get value on for this small budget?

K

Bikesdirect doesn't ship overseas, which it sounds like is the case for the OP, unless you have it shipped through a friend or relative in the US.

To the OP: I would recommend reading the stickies in this forum (particularly this FAQ http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=67259) and just checking out local bike shops around your area. I'm not quite sure how prices compare or what brands are available in your area, but €700 (roughly $1000 US) should be able to get a decent hardtail bike with something like a RockShox Tora.
