OK, FINE... i guess i couldn't wait. I've put in my order for a front and rear XT disc brake kit... and it's been a month. i don't know if its our management, or shimano being really backed up. i suspect it's a touch of managerial laziness and alot of backordered-ness.... (i heard that even shimano employees have to wait a month to get theirs).

I talked to one customer who said that shimano XT discs are made at the same factory in Italy, by Grimeca, and i believed that. Since then, i've seen magazines at the shop saying Shimano is ripping off Grimeca(taken apart the system 8's and reproduced them).

Up until now, i thought shimano had a contract with grimeca, it was all legal, and they were selling their stuff simultaneously. i mean, it's not uncommon to see subcontracting in the bike industry *ahem*specialized*ahem*... but i could be wrong.

anyway, if someone~ anyone has any info on exactly what's going on, please post!

P.S.: I figured that even if shimano WAS duping and ripping off Grimeca's stuff, that they're probably redoing it a little better anyway.
