Avid BB7 vs Shimano R505 disc brake system

Looking to upgrade my current Hayes MX-4 to either of those? Which is better... grip, modulation, maintenance, quality. Thoughts?

Any links to info on the Shimano brake? I can't seem to find anything from a quick search..

But I'm going to take an educated guess here and say the BB7s will be a better brake. I have them on my crapper bike, and they really are a good brake. Very easy to adjust, maintain and set up, and once you have them set up well, the stopping power is pretty damn good.

Everything (well most of what) I have read about the shimano disc brake system is that it is poo. However what I read was for the road brakes it should hold to MTB brakes. The BB7s have got good reviews everywhere and everyone says they stop much better than the shimanos. Basically they are the top end of mechanical disc brakes and what I will be getting for my new build.

Sorry, let me be more specific, the Shimanos are BR-R505. I think they Avid bb7 seem to be better as well after reading reviews around.
