Montague Folding System Paratrooper Bike, opinions?
So I might be able to pick one of these up for under 200, look like they sell for 600 or more.

The bike is in the link above.
I am not really into mountain biking but I would like to have one regardless.

Do you like things with military sounding names? Wear camoflage when it just makes you stand out further? Drive a Hummer on the streets only? Use a folding bike when you don't need it to? Might be the bike for you...

Its odd that you said that because i drive around a hummer painted pink and green camouflage, with "screaming delta eagle of death" painted on the side in huge letters.
If I do decide to get this bike there is a 50/50 chance I might turn around and try to trade the thing into a LBS for something. Or ride it in the winter, because my road bikes do not work so well.....

I doubt you'll be able to get whatever you pay for it at an LBS, and if you're looking to use it as a road bike, I'd say that your less-than-$200 would be better spent on a used roadbike.

Someone once said long ago on this forum "The advantage to a folding mountain bike is that it folds. The disadvantage is that it folds." That being said, $200 isn't that bad. Try it as your winter bike then sell it if you don't like it.

Come on everyone, what is up with sugar-coating things?
Those bikes are crap. Don't do it.
