Right near the base of Mt Baldy Rd. At the end of the vid, I am overlooking San Antonio Dam which is at Baldy Rd. Baldy Rd comes staright down from Baldy Village if you've ever done GMR to the village.
Top of Monte Vista/Padua area, straight up to the mtns from Montclair Plaza which is on the 10 fwy and Central Ave in Montlcair. Let me know if you ever do it, I'll make a video with TOm Jones music for ya!

Where I live we have a lot of trails. At times nice smooth hard pack and other bits of Single track that are relatively easy terrain except for the trees that jump out out in front of you. What they all have though are changing conditions. So how about that hardpacked 12% average slope for a mile that in the summer is just tiring? In winter with the rain making the chalk slippery and the ruts that have washed the Scree to just where you don't want, it it is a different game.
What our hills do have though is a fantastic riding at any time of the year. Wasn't very good last week though as I found traction a problem.
And knowing beanz also rides a Tandem--
Taken on the South Downs Way ride in 2006. at mile 65 of the 100 mile-10,00ft climb in one day ride.

NICE VIDEO just one question when i see videos like this, how did you get a shot of you riding the bike, ride up the mountain and set camera on the ground then go back and film yourself riding up the hill a second time? or were you with someone else?

I have an itty bity tripod. Like you said, set up , ride down, then repeat. If I see a shot I like, then I turn back down and repeat that section with the camera on. No mount on the climbs, freehand shooting.

I agree. It was a MTB ride, not my kind of ride though. Looks like you enjoy climbing and suffering. Those altitude graphs are pretty impressive. I love being at the top and sucking in the views and then bombing back down so I do some climbing too. The fitness level I achieve is the bonus but I have to admit I hate pedaling uphill! Thanks for posting, real pretty views.

In the video,I mention that "I did GMR" two days before the OP ride. 4000 ft climb, some downhill footage. Ride partners usually move over and lets me though on the descents as seen in this video. 6'1 235, I can get rolling pretty good. On the tandem, we hit 56 on a short 3/4 mile descent without trying or pedaling. Thank goodness cause 56 was too fast. Bike is rack solid but shades and helmets are rattling like crazy. She is a very good relaxed stoker though!
tandem video, flat trail.
