Idea's on a used xc frame?

Hey, Im build a mountain bike. I want it to be as light as resonably possible. I'm looking to save some money by either buying the whole bike used or just the frame. I want the frame weight to be also very light. I dont want to spend over 300 bucks for a used frame. Throw as many ideas at me as you can. Tell me the frame weight if you know it. It also need to have braze ons for a rack in the rear.

i'd be a little leary about buying a lightweight used frame. most lightweight frames are made of aluminum which doesnt have an infinite fatigue life, so if you buy something used who knows how long it will be before the frame breaks.

there are plenty of brand new frames on the market that are light and are $300 or less.

at 300-400 you can get a decent frame brand new and have a warranty on it too. you can get any giant bike frame through a dealer. finding a high end mtn bike frame with rack mounts will be tough but many of treks lower end frames have rack and fender mounts. cannondale f series also has rack mounts
