Opinion / advice needed

So seeing as I am more or less a bike noob I thought you guys could help.

I have a 2010 DB response (I'm aware I got a cheap bike). Problem is, every time I ride I smash my outside chainring. Being that it's a cheap Truvativ crankset, I cant just replace the outer ring (so the lbs tells me). So I'm planning on upgrading a little.

Question is, should I run a bash guard instead of the chainring? I really don't use the big gear so the only reason I wouldn't would be the shifters.

This is the crankset I am eyeballing in 22-32-bash because it's not more than my bike was

Anyone know if this will bolt right on? I'll order a bb if need be

Thanks, bike in question

Would you be getting the double for the dh crank?

Since you don't use the big ring, and always smash it on stuff... sounds like a reason to get a 2 ring + bash.

I forgot that part. Yes, I was planning on running the 22-32-Bash as the 2 gears are the same as mine
