Angle for your feet when clipped in?
Howdy folks, a few questions now that I'm using SPDs and shoes (duh)...
What is the best angle to setup the shoe to the pedal? Straight ahead, or a few degrees 'pigeon toed'?
Does this change when riding conditions change? Paved fireroads to single track or downhill to climbing?
Or is it???
We aren't the ones to answer this it is you. Go with whatever feels best to you.
Gravity Is Yer Friend
Generic way to figure it out, stand up, jump up and down a few times and then look at the position of your feet. That will give you some idea of how your feet should be angled and where to start. From there it will be personal preferance. You do not need to jump high, maybe about 6" or so.
Typically most riders have their feet angled out just a hair like \ / but less extreme obviously. I ride with mine just about straight b/c I have problems turning my knees at all.
