Rockshock Judy
I have been out of the sport for five years. I know that five years is a long time to be out of MBing, I have older XT components and the Judy fork. Are these passe? Will the suffice for awhile? I have seen a spring kit for the Judy, are the elastomers dried out? Will it benefit me to replace them? Thanks to all that respond........

I went thru the same thing last year. The elastomers in my Judy XC were shot, so I ordered a spring kit off ebay, cleaned up the fork and installed it. It works great now on my 1996 Scott Vertigo LSD. I did a lot of reading and research last year, and it all said that the newer forks were a night and day difference compared to the Judy. I bought a 29'r last year that had a Tora Race (air). It works great and is comfortable, but I don't see (or feel) the night and day difference. I do mainly XC, no jumps and only small drops, so your riding may differ. I would have been upset if I dropped the money on a new fork to replace the Judy.
