Trail might be closed
The mountain bike trail that I ride on a lot has been suggested to be closed due to *****exuals. I want to point out that I am definitely not against gay people, but damn, can't these few idiots take it to a hotel?!?!?!? There have been numerous instances of them having sex out on the trail and are not ashamed to be seen. Police have made numerous arrests. A couple of my gay friends said these are not the typical gay people. The majority of these idiots are high profile guys that are married with families and therefor can't be seen in public as gay. Most of them are driving cars that could buy a home. I have been hit on several times and thought nothing about it and just told them I am not gay. When they keep this ***** up and threaten closing the park down because of so many complaints, that's ridiculus!!!! They got so bad at the rest areas in Tennessee, the state closed all interstate rest areas that don't have building with them.

Ummm...so they congregate in the woods? Seriously. Thats really odd. Not that as a straight person, I haven't enjoy the woods but I would never think to have an area shut down because I got caught. Very strange.
Sounds like a ridiculous precedant to stand on so personally I wouldn't be worried.

The talk about shutting it down came up after it has been on the local news twice. I just don't understand why, if they want to keep their *****exuality secret, they don't take it to motels???

Take pictures ...
Seriously, gay people in park, therefore we shut it down to mountain bikes**********
Sorry, but the logic there is pretty lacking. This is probably just a pretext for getting mountain bikes out of the park.
Anything that brings MORE people into a park or area, makes that area safer. It makes it less desirable to unseemly activities and people who don't wish to be noticed. Taking pictures might scare some people off. Being seen is one thing, being recorded is another especially of this guys are on the "down low" and don't want their wives (or bosses) to find out.

They do that at Cameron Park in Waco, TX a lot too. Actually theres a place near here in MI that they do it too... I don't know what the deal is but they are frickin' ruining a lot of nice places for a lot of people.
There are several known gay prostitutes that work in Cameron Park, and a lot of reports of innappropriate behavior right on or close to the trails. I dont think they are just shutting it down to mountain bikes in the above post... sounds like they are cutting off all access, period.

I am going to tell you, myself and a couple of other friends have seriously considered taking pictures of them, mass copying it, and positing them on telephone polls saying I have gay sex at Hamilton Creek! And you are right, that might put a stop to this $hit out of them!!!

UPDATE***
Hamilton Creek is back in full force!!
They have added a couple miles of new trail, and all of the illicit activity has been seriously lowered. There are still a few people that drive through the park cruising or whatever, but I have been mtn biking out there nearly twice a week for the last 6 months, and I have NEVER rode up on any illicit behavior.
Hamilton Creek just had their Fat Tire Festival and it was awesome!! The trail is holding maintenance days monthly, and things are really looking great for the Creek!!
Check out www.HamCreek.com and www.NashvilleMountainBike.com for more info on this trail and other Nashville mtn bike trails!!
See you on the trail!!

This also happens in Austin, Tx near the "greenbelt" (trails and rock walls for climbing and swimming holes).
Behavior is taken seriously by the cops because it's associated with prostitution and drug use. Also something that some people don't realize, and that I didn't know until I was 17 or so, is that these type of crowds have been known to get aggressive and unruly. I first heard of male **** in Austin. I sat in on a ''date ****" seminar in HS and a crisis center person told us of the occurrence.
I think they only increased police patrols on the Greenbelt since it's such a popular spot.
Btw, I don't think the "powers that be" badger MTB'ers as much as they do skateboarders. So I don't think they are targeting MTB'ers.
Btw, the male prostitute, parks and "wooded areas" theme happens in all countries, Europe, South America... etc.

You guys are hilarious.
Anyhow... I hope the trail stays open. Do you have winter months come up soon.... ?
I suppose that male prostitutes won't be riding horseback in the cold.

So if there were straight people screwing on the trail, it would stay open? If prostitutes were taking their johns in the woods, it would stay open?
C'mon... sounds like an excuse to take the trails down. Stop falling for those ridiculous excuses and get them to admit what their real problem is. Then work to resolve those problems and stop jumping on the bandwagon when they start using these inflammatory, ridiculous, probably mostly untrue statements just to get you all riled up and distracted from their true agenda.

I think the people, constituents, will complain regardless of "sexuality".
Wait, what are we talking about here... MTB or gay people.
Anyhow, come on... I say leave the trails open and clean it up...
No ride that I know wants to Endo onto a pile of drug needles or 2 unsuspecting gay boys.
Btw, are you gay?
Wait, what is it that we are talking about again?
