Whistler for bachelor party.

I can't think of a better place to spend a bachelor party then riding up at Whistler then hitting the village for drinks afterwards. Just spent 5 days up there about a month ago and didnt wanna come home. Not buying anything up there this time its way tooooo expensive. The Garbanzo zone is open now so it'll be a first to ride up there. Are the trails up there better?

Just make sure the groom doesn't roll out of there in a wheelchair like a lot of people do after they feel inspired to "go big"

mykster 07-05-10 07:48 PM

SInce I'm the bachelor I will be looking for new inspiration. LOL!

dminor 07-05-10 08:08 PM

When 'll you be up?

mykster 07-05-10 08:43 PM

The weekend of Aug 7th. Just realized its Crankworx that weekend so not sure if my bro in law will wanna head up there that weekend. Can you still ride during Crankworx?

P.S. Doug, do you know if there was any video of the Beacon Blowout this year. I was unable to get over there.

dminor 07-05-10 08:59 PM

Everything is open during Crankworx except the trails that make up the course ONLY for the training/race hours. So, there will be a couple days Schleyer (or whatever) will be closed but not all day either day.

I'll get you the link when I can find it again if I get a chance. Search for Beacon Double Down Hoe Down for 2010. We didn't do a Blowout this year but there's some good vid of Wheel Sport's Hoe Down (yeah, two words )

Forgive me for being distracted: In Sun Peaks tonight to ride tomoeeow: headed for Whistler Wednesday.

Doug

And the bars are ****ing packed during Crankworx...perfect for a bachelor party!

Sounds like perfect timing to me. You still get to ride all the trails, but if you want you can also watch the pro's at Crankworx. And the bars will be packed so you won't have to feel bad if you get a little loud & obnoxious.

Garb trails are fun and not crowded even during Crankworx, which is a blast too. I can't think of a better setting for a bachelor party.

I don't know. I heard most of the strippers look like a more haggard version of dminor.

[shivers at the thought of a female dminor]

Yeah but you can find skankass strippers anywhere. Most of them around here outweigh dminor.

well actually if you want the truth...there are no strippers here. Only hookers. Closest strip club in in vancouver. While you can pay a hooker to strip, its rarely worth it...

awesome idea, but be careful. like the first poster said, you don't want to get banged up that close to her big day. a buddy of mine is getting married at a park that holds one of the east coasts best trail systems, I tried to talk him into taking his bike for between the wedding and reception...she quickly shot the idea down.

Yeah, best to just bag the idea altogether. Instead of a proper bachelor party perhaps he should spend a quiet weekend scrapbooking with the future inlaws.

^^

You know you want to. Maybe you can clip coupons afterwards.

Seriously though, she'll hold you responsible. If you want to be invited to future events then take care, she'll have him putting his balls in a vice in no time and that means immature unsafe friends will be quickly eliminated. :)

Just be sure to include the bride-to-be in the MTB fun and you be fine.

This sounds like a man speaking from experience.
