GFisher Hoo Koo E Koo w/27" wheels? (wheel/tire noob)

for kicks (and a hopeful outlook), I just put some 27" wheels (700x38) on my GF HKEK. I'm looking to make this 1993 (or older) frame a little more comfortable for me (and my aging 44 year-old frame).

The fit seems very snug to the rigid fork V, and maybe problematic (I didn't ride it, just tested in while the bike was upside-down).

Anyone know if this is workable? I'd love to get the 27"efficiency out of it, but then again, I've got some Kenda Kross Plus tires on order for the 26" wheels that should be pretty efficient.

This bike is new to me, and It will be my go-to commuter/utility. Gotta love getting to know a new bike.

Thanks

The brake pads will not line up with the rims without special adapters, and the rear wheel hub spacing might not be the same either.

Its possible to run a 69er on an old 1993 Trek frame. I converted a 1994 Gary Fisher Aquila to a 69er set up. 700C wheel with corrected Bontrager fork on the front and 26" wheel in the back. It runs smooth despite the difference in the front and back wheel size.
