xtr on trek 6700?

Im planning on putting a front xtr deruialleur on a trek 6700. I dont know if the size will fit on the 6700 though. I can get the front deruialleur in either a 34.9 or 28.6. Ive tried finding sizes on the trek web site and mtbr but i cant seem to find the measurments. Does anyone know?

28.6 is for steel framed bikes. I would suspect you need either the 31.x or a 34.x The real question is why waste money on an XTR front?

If you can get an XTR front deraillieur for $30 go for it, all the more power for you.
