Is that the Agressor model or the Backwoods?

I've had a couple of GT's (a Karakorum, a Rebound and my wife has a Backwood's). They were all great bikes, I'll miss GT as it was!

Cool bike! a2psyklnut, you reminded me, a Karakorum was the bike that first got me into MTBing about 9 years ago - I remember it had a really bright sort of fluorescent red paint job that stood out a mile away, I could have have parked it on a cliff as a substitute lighthouse when I wasn't riding it .

What a bad news. I used to purchase american magazines where I had all the information about brands, bikes, etc. but in this moment I'm in a little town. now I only have internet, that's one of the reasons I'm here.-

The last news I had got of GT was that it passed to a german management group owner of SHWINN, a read this in '98 or '99 I don't remember. This happened in the worst moment of GT, when the company had problems with their BMX models. And the full suspension models weres a desaster too.-

Is a pity the fall down of GT. But the triple triangle will pass to the history.-

Here in Argentina existed a GT model called Karakoram. I don't know if it's the same you are talking about. But here it was one of the best aluminium bikes, taking in mind the price and the model.-

I have two GT one is this and the other is a GT MOTO a hybrid BMX/common bike.-

I purchase this bike in '96-'97, because I couldn't drive cars. When I enter the bike shop I felt like a martian. This occur in Buenos Aires.-

Well, in all this time with kms and kms there you have it, the frame received hits and scrapes here and there, and no problem.-

Hey Amigo,

Donde estas ahora? My family is from Argentina, Buenos Aires as well, la calle Florida! Actually I have a lot of family in S.A. all over Argentina. I haven't been down to see them since '91, wow, over 10 years ago!

Yeah, I thought it was a good move when Schwinn bought GT, but in the end I guess it didn't work out! GT will still exists as well as Schwinn, just not in the same capacity. The rumor is that their highest priced bikes will only be $1,000.

Where do you ride in S.A.? If I can visit again, I'll have to have you show me some places to go!

BTW, I haven't had any mate lately, I've got to find someone here who sells it. Oh yeah, Alfahores (sp?) I love the chocolate ones! And Dulce de leche, yum. Or just un beefe de chorizo! I'm getting hungry!

I lived in Buenos Aires 10 years. But I'm from Jujuy a province in the northwest of Argentina. Now I'm here again in my province and I don´t know how much time I stay.-

Tomorrow morning I will take a plane to Buenos Aires, and I will return the Sunday, I hope. In Buenos Aires I live in Barrio Norte in Larrea street.-

In this moment Argentina is a hell. The government is going down. Our future is uncertain.-

The northwest is a good place to bike. I'm not a pro racer or something like that but I enjoy the mountain zones here in Jujuy.-

GT made some great bikes in their day...

I always liked their ti bike, which looked cool and weighed less than a feather.

Love live GT eh!
