Anybody know any reallly good mud tires? I'm using some 2.1 panaracer fire xc's right now, and they rock for everything but wet sticky mud. I heard the michelins are good in mud, but i also heard that the knobbies are too weak and are always tearing off.... Any ideas? I'm looking for a size right around 2.1- thx!

Knobbies
What's Up?
Well I reckon that michelin wildgrippers are very good for mud. I've found that knobbies can get clogged up depending on the conditions. I don't have wildgrippers at the moment çause I can't really afford it but what I do have is some fattish 1.95 Tioga Psycho tyres which are foldable and are kevlar beaded with good mud clearance for only 20 bucks each! my site is http://www.geocities.com/nothing4130 [Edited by cooldude on 07-17-2000 at 05:09 AM] |
Smoke/Dart
The Panaracer Smoke/Dart classic combo is pretty good at shedding thick sticky mud. They are a bit much (drag wise) for all around riding, especially if you're used to the XC pro's.

Mud!
Mak90,
Mud is fun, but make sure you clean your bike well before you put it away. The mud will cause alot of damage to your drive train, and if you think tires are expensive, wait untill you replace your sprockets! |
You're not supposed to be riding in mud!!
