Getting started

First post and wanted to say hi..
I just picked up a DB response comp and am super pumped. It's my first mountain bike since high school. back in the day I road all over and everywhere I could find. I'm looking to get back into it since I can't ride dirtbikes anymore. Feel this is the next best thing if not better since I can get healthier. Plus wife is wanting to and hell it's a plus riding behind her..lol
Any tips for a newbie?

hi DB,
1- don't overthink it, you are riding a bicycle, not performing surgery. it's not a competition. go out and ride your bike how you want to, have fun how you want to, that is all that matters. no one cares what you ride or how you ride, as long as you ride you are "in"
2- LOTS of threads on just about anything you are gonna ask...just search, not just here but google the whole internet, tons of sites...
3 - same as 2...for starters...how about you just ride your bike as often as you can.
4 - dont' force it, make it fun, he will like it or not, if so, yay, if not, let it go, he'll find it on his own later in life
