Another "I Want MTB" thread :)

Hello, there. I am a roadie and want to explore MTB world a bit a s well. I know a bit about MTB, but not enough to make a right decision. I have about 2K budget and wondering what is the best bike for the money would be. I am in Toronto so if you can also advise what shop to go to would be great!

TIA

I am not the expert I am kind of on here doing the same thing as you. This forum is way slower than road biking and vintage hopefully someone will weigh in here.

A Scott Genius 60 full suspension can be had with nice componetry for $2K new roughly if you look. Nice ride! Or you can build one up yourself if you are savvy at that sort of thing. Good luck.

I've decided to raise the bar "a bit". Knowing myself from road bike upgrades history I've decided to go Specialized Marathon Carbon, 2010. I fell in love with this bike - looks, the feel and design is astonishing. Picking up tomorrow.
