What Spesh Stumpjumper is this? US help needed, urgently!

I'm trying to buy a Stumpjumper Pro Carbon. A seller has one on ebay here in the UK, that he claims was purchased in the US. California to be exact, and is in it's original state.

The trouble is the colour and spec differs from the UK and US spec. I've contacted Specialized who couldn't really confirm anything. Here is a link;

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...#ht_964wt_1055

The 2007 version of the FSR Pro Carbon was similarly specced but was black and red. The frame on the one on ebay also sports a FACT 10M Carbon sticker, which I'm told should only be on an S-Works model!

Similarly, it has Mavic 819s instead of the standard DT Swiss 4.2s...

I've searched the internet for images but have any of you guys ever seen a Stumpy in these colours and does anyone have an explanation as to why a humble Stumpy would have been made out of 10M carbon?

Thanks, in advance but I'm really not sure whether I'm getting ripped off or alternatively looking a gift horse in the mouth!

Either you bought it or it's too late - sold

I've bought it but not paid due to the mix up over specs.

Would still like to know whether such a bike could have been on sale in the US.

Here, there are standard colours and standard specs.

The guy reckons everything is as on the original so why the different colour and spec?

Looks more like the S-Works spec. Not the exact right paint though.

Thanks for that. I've finally got a view of the whole spec and it would seem that most of the stuff on it, with the exception of the Mavic 819 rims corresponds to the Pro Carbon. Bizarrely the skewers are DT Swiss!

But oh that paint job! And I still can't fathom the FACT 10M sticker.

Specialized actually admitted that it could have been put on by mistake at the factory!

If I do go through with it, I can feel some heavy Chris King and X0 Mango spending coming on.

Sadly the Magura Marta's on there don't seem to be SLs.

Dude that's super sketchy. It's probably a chinese knock off bike. Send it to me and I'll check it out for you.

I have owned several specialized bikes - it is VERY common for them to mix up specs on early or late season bikes (to cover parts that are not available). I was at the shop today and a 2011 Bighit had a Boxxer - not in the spec. I had a 2005 enduro pro that was a different color than what was available in the catalog - I got it late 2004.

Thanks all.

ssyco, that does sound likely.

Still can't explain the FACT 10M sticker, mind. Specialized said that it could have been put on by mistake at the factory...

Looks a nice clean example in the other shots I've seen.

I'm wondering if the original frame was exchanged under the crash damage scheme and this was put on instead?

Still doesn't explain the garish paint job, though. Although it'll certainly be unique over here.

It's 1250 here in the UK. That must be nearing US$1800. Putting aside the ID problems, does that represent good value in US terms?

I'm trading in my 2008 Stumpy Expert, you see and hopefully getting something approaching the 1250 for it.
