Sar, what levers you running? I tend to use about 60-40 sometimes 70-30....never completely locking the brakes though....unless I want to make a crazy tight swichback or something. Cant wait for my new brakes

I use my first and middle fingers. It's a habit carried over from Motorcycle riding, and I am more comfortable that way. I do not feel like I lack control.

To answer another post in this thread, I am a heavy front braker. Learning how to use the front brake effectively will save you some pain in the long run.

I've tried both, but I feel on the steeper technical downhills just the ring finger and pinky don't grip the bar well enough. Therefore I use my index only.
