Question for the Pros
Im about to buy a bike with a dh fork but its a hardtail. What kind of riding would it be for?
(not what kind of riding i will be doing for it, but what kind would that set up be best for?)

Not a pro, but doubt it's for jumping. Jump bikes are short travel (80-100mm usually) or rigid for responsiveness. I still vote FRHT.

No, jumping forks and 4x forks are 80-100mm... it's a "free-ride" or urban hard-tail... I.e. large drops.. What is the frame? Is the geometry corrected for a DH fork?
As an aside, too much travel on a hard-tail can be a real handful.... it will buck you like a bronco because the front glides over but the rear wheel is mostly along for the ride in the gnarly sections. At least in my experience.

FRHT = freeride hardtail. Same as what electrik said. And what I said in your other thread.
